Deere-Hitachi History

Based on a relationship dating back to the 1960s, Hitachi Construction Machinery and Deere & Company collaborated to reach an OEM supply agreement in 1983 for the manufacturing of construction excavators. Since then, two joint venture companies with three manufacturing facilities have been established.

If you are unfamiliar with the Hitachi product’s history, you may be surprised to learn that Hitachi and John Deere formulated a strategic partnership and merged their operations to make the best products available some years ago. Deere & Company and Hitachi Construction Machinery have been leading the construction industry for many years and unite under the Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation.
